A Workplace, Conduct & Risk case study
The project
A Department of Justice Taskforce was established to examine the issue of relationships between Corrective Service staff. OCM supported this taskforce by providing qualified staff with in investigative and data analytics experience to support Justice staff for the entire period of the taskforce.
OCM were engaged to provide support to this Task Force. The following services were provided:
- Provided advice on the design of the process for triaging incoming complaints, assessing the veracity of the complainant and investigating cases.
- Work with the Department of Justice to develop an audit tool to assess investigations.
- Assessed the appropriateness of investigations undertaken by Corrective Services. As a part of this process OCM together with the Justice Taskforce examined over 150 cases and our expert investigators provided their comments on the investigations.
- Worked with the Justice Taskforce to identify ways to identify areas for improvement for future investigations.
The OCM team has assisted various Government clients into suspected breaches of policies such as legislative based Codes of Conduct, matters reportable under the Public Interest Disclosures legislation (title differs by jurisdiction), and the enabling acts of anticorruption bodies such as the Independent Commission Against Corruption Act 1988 (NSW), as well as referrals to law enforcement.
Our role
