The project
Project Energy Connect is a new 900 kilometre high voltage transmission line which will run from Wagga Wagga in NSW to Robertson in SA, with a connection to Red Cliffs in VIC. The project includes construction of and upgrades to supporting infrastructure, such as substations, access tracks and roads, and laydown/ staging areas, along the route of the transmission line, and has an estimated value of
$1.6 billion.
Our role
As a recognised leader in the provision of probity services, OCM was engaged as the probity advisor. Our role involved drawing from our extensive experience in the utilities sector, to undertake the following tasks:
- Identify, assess, and manage probity risks arising during the procurement process such that compliance with the relevant policies and guidelines was achieved in all material respects.
- Provide real time probity advice throughout the lifetime of the project aimed at strengthening the maintenance of probity in the procurement process. This involved advising and working with personnel from all levels of TransGrid, and other departmental representatives, consultants, advisors, and tender representatives.
