New School 2 Project – Ashtonfield Public School Upgrade
A Probity case study
The project
The Ashtonfield Public School upgrade is one of several public schools provided through the NSW Government’s New School 2 Project, a project aimed at delivering new and innovative education infrastructure solutions for students across NSW.
The upgrade will provide permanent accommodation in lieu of portable accommodation for students at Ashtonfield. It will deliver 12 new classrooms and associated spaces, student amenities and a lift, together with expansion and refurbishment of the library, administration areas, canteen and the hall.
Our significant experience with school infrastructure and the education sector more broadly, saw OCM’s appointed as the probity advisor for the Request for Tender (RFT) stage of the Project. OCM undertook the following tasks throughout the project’s duration:
- Reviewed the procurement strategy to ensure it was structured in a way that facilitated fairness and transparency throughout the evaluation process.
- Undertook probity reviews of all relevant documentation including Probity Protocols for the project, the Request for Tender released to selected tenderers, and the RFT Evaluation Report.
- Attended meetings where RFT process progression and issues were discussed.
- Confidentiality and conflict of interest management.
- Value for money considerations.
